Next up is the new extortion 10" "loose screws" on Red limited to 100. Im so glad I didn't miss out on this pre-order. I have been a fan of the band since their inception in 2005 (first seeing them live on the one and only newcastle extortion show on the extortion/jaws tour in 2006 I believe.) But I haven't always been a vinyl collector. So in turn I Missed out on a first pressing of the S/T 7" "Degenerate" and "control" which go for ridiculous amounts these days especially "degenerate" which I have seen go for between $80-$100. Anway on to the record. Amazing as always. Rohan's vocals do sound different than usual but I can't quite put my finger on why. The highlights of the album for me would have to be "the pessimist" and the amazing dual vocals of rohan and barney greenway(of napalm death fame) on the track "grind to a halt" both different styles of vocals just blended so well together. Here's fingers crossed for a possible Extortion/Napalm death split in the future.

Finally!!

Finally more takings to post!! a few weeks ago I posted a comment saying to Mr Sean "I have the best record collection and Tim is jealous!" Dawson complaining that Newcastle didn't have a record store! well guess what! one did open up and I didnt even know.still very young store and not the biggest range! but regardless I am still very stoked that we finally have something and I really look forward to it expanding in the future. I did manage to pick up two things the extortion s/t 7" reissue with bonus live tracks (I am not that happy with my pictures of it I always try and do my best to have some quality photos to show as you can tell writing is not really my forte!)and the "SCVM" compilation tape a split release on destination failure and magic crowbar. It features Extortion, septic surge, pathetic human, suffer and a bunch of bands I have never heard but that the point of a compilation tape :)

I also saw Mindsnare first time in a year or so last week in sydney and all I can is holy shit!!! fucking Amazing as always such a flawless band!! here's to hoping that the usual rules of a new album round about every 3 years so if so then 2010 is the one!! I finally picked up a copy of "disturb the hive" and by far I would say this has to be my favorite record To Photograph!! If you can't tell by the pictures I had a blast!! I love the artwork! I did most of it in a rich sepia to get the depth and contrast of the Album because most of it is already in a sepia tone. Enjoy :)
